Every girl, when she moves into Harbor House, receives a free Bible.

We use the Everyday Bible -New Century Version, published by Thomas Nelson. The NCV translation brings the Bible down to a level where most teens can easily understand it, with reading comprehension aimed at third grade and up. Although it is not designed as a study bible, it gets the girls reading (a necessary first component of study!) who might not understand or want to read a more difficult translation. As the text draws them in, that can lead them to compare and study using a more precisely translated version (the editors of the NCV also were part of the NASB and NKJV translation teams).
