HARBOR HOUSE MATERNITY HOME MEDIA RELEASE October 31, 2004 For immediate release Royalty-free PHOTO INCLUDED Contact: Doug Eberle Phone: (419) 586-9029 ext. 3100 [NOTE TO EDITOR: When the election is over, we can laugh as one again. “A merry heart does good, like medicine...” Proverbs 17:22] LAUGHTER TO BE SHARED AT HARBOR HOUSE MATERNITY HOME FUNDRAISER What could be better than an evening of “laughing until it hurts”? When that laughter is “good medicine,” as the biblical book of Proverbs says. Get ready for Mike Williams, an inspirational entertainer who has made millions of people laugh. The comedian will be the featured guest November 9 at Romer’s Celina Westlake Facility helping to raise money for Harbor House Maternity Home and Elizabeth Pregnancy Services, as K & K Tours helps present the 14th annual “A Celebration of Life” Sharing Banquet. Although no fee is charged for admission, seating is limited and requires an advance reservation. Those interested in attending can inquire by calling (419) 586-9029 or visiting online at www.SharingBanquet.com. Doors open at 5:30 PM, with dinner at 6:30 PM and the program following, concluding at 9 PM. Mike Williams’ outrageous material has been experienced by many people on network television shows, in live performances across the country, as a prop writer for Carrot Top, in humorous magazine articles, through his books, or one of many comedy recordings. Mike currently makes his home in Lakeland, Florida, with his wife, Terica, and their two children. His interactive web site at www.christiancomedian.com calls Mike “the Third Funniest Man in America”... we have no idea who the first two are! His life story promises to leave people marveling at the grace and mercy of God. Most maternity homes, including Harbor House, offer their services to steer women away from abortion and towards parenting or adoption. Pregnancy centers like Elizabeth Pregnancy Services help provide tangible things for pregnant clients, like free pregnancy tests, baby items and maternity clothes. But it all takes money, as the local ministries do not charge for their services (although Harbor House asks parents of residents to redirect money they would normally spend on their daughter at home back to the ministry by using a sliding scale based on family size and income). The two local ministries rely strictly on private donations, refusing to take tax dollars or public funds to avoid being controlled by government restrictions. Many area businesses have underwritten the Sharing Banquet so that people can attend event without paying admission. They include: K & K Tours Inc., Owen Hall Realtors Auctioneers, Stammen-Paragon Insurance Agency, RCS Construction, Card Mart / Flowers Original, Messenger Press, Bair Pharmacy, The Gels Home, St. Marys Hardware Co., Ault, Henderson & Lewis, Beckman & Gast Co., The Peoples Bank Co., St. Marys Chrysler-Plymouth Dodge Inc.; Francis Furniture, Ohio Vision LLC (Dr. John Wilding), Lamm’s Insurance Agency, Korner Kafe, Celina Wine Store / Pullman Bay Restaurant, Chakeres Celina Cinema 5, Roebuck Insurance Agency, J.
