| Steve Camp
has been a dynamic and sometimes controversial
voice to the Church for most of his music ministry
spanning some 19 years and 16 albums. A Grammy-winning
songwriter with deeply held convictions, his message
has always been one of unwavering obedience to
God no matter what the cost.
As he does
with the rest of his no-compromise convictions,
Steve pulls no punches in sharing his solution
to the abortion holocaust in America: "Last
year, crisis pregnancy centers saved 300,000
unborn children. That's just one year. Not through
sit-ins, not through boycotts, not through protests,
but providing the godly alternatives in crisis
pregnancy center counseling and through adoption
and through the care of these young babies.
Christians have to really wake up at this point
and not.give into the carnal, fleshly means
of the political, legislative process by which
we can only fight a spiritual battle. Abortion
is a spiritual battle and the only way to see
that changed is through the Gospel of Jesus
Christ."
Besides
the pro-life cause, Steve Camp has also been
involved in reaching out to people with AIDS
and efforts to help feed the poor. He hosts
a one-hour weekly radio talk show that has "a
razor sharp edge tone. not cutting, but challenging.
Steve is not shy to clearly state a biblical
world-view against the moral pluralistic pabulum
that is served up on most talk radio today."
As the show's co-host says, "[He] isn't afraid
to take a stand; to speak the truth in love.
Steve is an equal-opportunity offender."
For all
of his involvement in outside causes and projects,
Steve believes that there is no more significant
place to serve the Lord than in the home. He
and his wife Kim just celebrated eleven years
of marriage, and they have five children-Maxfield,
Johnston, Jordan, Marshall and Mary. They currently
make their home in Nashville, Tennessee, although
Steve has accepted a teaching position with
Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California.
